Convertible Top Care
Cruising down the road with my convertible back… Hey, that could be the beginning of a new song! Yeah, we should probably stick to what we know best. If you have a “ragg top” we should talk.
We Know Convertible Tops
We know convertible top vehicle owners love to cruise with their tops back, it’s the reason for getting a convertible in the first place. There’s nothing more pleasurable than sailing about with no particular destination, the wind in your hair and the sun on your face. What many people aren’t aware of is the importance of maintaining your cloth or vinyl tops.
Most convertible tops are made of a polyacrylic/polyester material or vinyl. Both of these materials are subjected to harsh UV rays year-round. This will cause discoloration and will cause fading of your material over time. Unlike vinyl tops, a canvas top isn’t waterproof, it is only water resistant. This simply means your cloth top is subjected to mildew if it is exposed to rain or condensation. Cloth tops also absorb all of the materials in the air and will cause yellowing over time.
If your convertible top is worn out, ripped or damaged in any way you can schedule a free estimate to have your top replaced by our qualified and professional team members at Parkside Detail and Accessories.
What’s Our Solution?
We use a two (2) step solution to protect and safeguard your cloth and vinyl tops.
Step 1
Our professionals clean the material using a Nylex bristle brush made specifically for cloth and vinyl top materials. The cleanser is strong enough to lift soils and stains. This will also repel the growth of mildew, as well as resist future stains from other sources.
Step 2
A protectant that will safeguard your cloth or vinyl top from acid rain, UV Rays, smog, tree sap, bird droppings, salt, tar, dirt, grease, and grit is applied. Additionally, we have a special protectant for vinyl tops that safeguards and conditions, keeping your it from becoming brittle or fragile to everyday elements from our very own Mother Nature.
